Sustainability Country Rating for Sovereign Bonds
As pioneers in sustainable investing, we have been producing ESG (environmental, social, governance) ratings for countries since 2002. In our latest video, Nico Frey, Sustainable Investment Analyst, tells us more about how considering ESG aspects can give a more comprehensive and holistic risk assessment of countries.
Key points include:
- Our rating is based on the J. Safra Sarasin Sustainability Matrix, taking into account the two dimensions: "resource availability"and "resource efficiency".
- One of our innovations has been to incorporate forward-looking key risks into our methodology.
- Over 100 data points from internationally recognised sources are incorporated into the assessment.
- 181 countries have been given ratings, with 50 of them classified as sustainable.
